But after over 3 weeks, what surprised me is that there truly are a lot of Hot Iron fans out there, and they like the idea so much they outvoted Rape fans.
That tells me that such a database is a worthwhile project. It doesn't mean that a Rape Database is a dead idea. ---------------------- Elkcreek: Thanks for the mini-review of . BTW, when I was adding it I discovered that Giga changed their website and wiped out all the previous links we had before on the Giga titles, so I had to go back and add new buy links for all the previous Giga movies that had reviews. The link for your review is in my Homepage URL above.
Of course, anyone who enters the theatre should have an idea in advance what to expect.
I'm curious why Jac felt that a different, shorter edit was necessary? How many minutes shorter with this new version run?
We had some feedback from our own people who felt the torture scenes were extremely long. but to show the film to a larger audience we felt it would be better to make it more agile.
Our original cut was directed to the people who actually like this stuff... Jac cut out probably two minutes of the entire movie, but what he did is to combine the scenes with faster cuts, intercutting the testimonies with the tortures more, rather than having them in blocks like it is in the movie you all saw...
Is the reaction to her feigned, fantasy death unreal? Here we have real distress for the actor during the course of creating a fantasy about vampires(! When the lash hits the skin in those scenes, I feel it.
The reaction from our audience varies according to what makes them tick individually, but it's real, of course. I'm sure it will have a disturbing impact on audiences here. When that happens, when the reality of the scenes does away with the staging of it, when the audience believes in it and feels for it, that's when we feel that we did a great job. Avila has described Dead but Dreaming as an Aristotelian (Vampyre) Epic, (as a mediaevalist, I prefer the archaic spelling! In his famous discussion of the nature of tragedy he values such drama as enabling us to experience the emotions of fear, horror, terror and pity, for real.We had one before, and I'm much further along on that project than the other one. The reason isn't in our Torture Rack Database is because it doesn't qualify as either a rack scene or a suspension scene. Have we not all explored our real feelings and attitudes through imagination and fantasy? In the realm of BDSM and GIMP action I have determined future experiences, both for myself and others, by sharing my fantasies with those others and having them share theirs with me. movie JJ and Jane made some years ago, when they first began living together, is a good example of fantasy meeting reality. The whole purpose of that database is to highlight scenes where the woman is tortured by either being stretched or by hanging by her own body weight. It was all very real, and yet is was still a fantasy.I hope you'll keep us updated on what the audience reaction is..good and bad.Obviously, it's not going to please everyone with subject material like that, not to mention the graphic nudity and torture scenes.Jac asked me to clarify what Aristotelian Epic means to him.
